In this role, you will manage between 7-12 direct reports.You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. Responsibilities :

Directly develop a team of GN&C autonomy engineers. This includes being responsible for the people, processes, and tools crucial for best-in-class performance.

Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team

Manage direct reports’ professional development (e.g., hiring, performance reviews, compensation and promotion management, routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on performance.

Qualifications :

MinimumBS and applied industry experience in aerospace or related field

Experience leading technical teams

Industry experience with systems for space, reentry, or hypersonic vehicles

Experience in development of requirements, interfaces, trades, and analyses for autonomy systems

Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and / or first principles physics-based mathematical models

Strong understanding of spacecraft autonomy principles and fault protection techniques

Understanding of the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning, and operations

Experience in modeling hardware components and analyzing performance of subsystem or components via simulation, testing, or analytical methods

Experienced with Model Based Development paradigms and strong modeling and software development skills

Leadership experience on technical projects managing deliverables, schedules, and labor resources.

Experience in Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS Next Generation, Jama, and Matlab / Simulink

Experienced in configuration and product data management

Comfortable collaborating with technical peers across a variety of engineering domains

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired (but not required) :

MS or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areas
